Tour of Cash4Gold
So what happens to your packet of jewelry when you send it to Cash4Gold? It doesn’t need to be a mystery. I recently took a tour of the facilities and witnessed the process first hand.
Once your pack is received, there is a six step process before the gold is sent to the refinery and a check to you.
1) Receiving. The job of Receiving is to verify and document the contents that have been shipped. They open your pack and lay all of the articles in front of the label, identifying you as the shipper. They then take pictures of your material as record of what was received. Receiving also compares the list of material prepared by you to what is actually in the package to check for any discrepancies, which is an important step in your favor for security purposes.
2) Batching. Receiving then passes your pack to a Batching employee, who sits directly across from them. Batching simply organizes the packs received into batches of 25 for Testing. Packs will remain within their batches through the duration of the process.
3) Testing. So what is this stuff that you sent
in exchange for cash? Is it gold? Qualifying the material you
send is the job of the testers. Testers have three ways to qualify
jewelry: 1) electronic tester, 2) scratch testing, and 3) x-ray
fluorescence testing. The testing equipment is state-of-the-art,
and Cash4Gold
does not rely on only one method of testing. Due to occasional
discrepancies, it is important to have three options available
for verification purposes.
4) Data Entry. Now that the content of your shipment has been documented and tested, it moves on to Data Entry. The representative has your pack, separated into bags marked with the specific content they contain (as determined by the Tester). The representative then weighs the content and enters it into the computer system. The system will then determine payout value based on content and weight.
5) Check Cut.Next, the fun part – a check is cut in the amount determined in the Data Entry process and sent to you. If you chose the "FastCash" payment method, your payment will be directly deposited. Otherwise, the check is shipped to you the same day that the data entry is completed.
6) The Vault.Your jewelry is then kept in a vault, waiting for the next step. If you do not request a return within 12 days of the check being sent, the jewelry will be sent to the refinery for processing. If you do request a return, your material will be kept for 60 days, waiting for your check to be received. Once in hand, your jewelry is returned.
In Conclusion
Not only can you trust that Cash4Gold will assess your jewelry fairly with their impressive testing equipment, but you can also expect quick payment – most checks are sent the same day a pack is received. I was impressed with the professionalism, structure and efficiency of this process. The customer’s jewelry is in good hands – the hands of industry experts.
