Cash4Gold Warns Customers to Avoid Fraudulent Copycats and Imitators

Cash4Gold invented the direct-to-consumer gold refining business in 2007. Since then, and in particular since the popular and well received advertisement during the 2009 Super Bowl, hundreds of imitators and copycats have clung to their bootstraps.

While competition is expected and necessary, there are some companies that have gone so far as to pose as Cash4Gold to steal your business. They do this by using a similar web address or illegally using Cash4Gold’s logo and other graphics.

It’s a short cut for the company looking to cash in on this industry. Unfortunately, the consumer is the biggest victim of the scam.

Not only are you not dealing with the real Cash4Gold when this happens, but, as Aronson notes, you will not be protected by the 100% satisfaction guarantee and high quality customer service.

Here are some ways that you can protect yourself:
• Be wary of any website that claims to be Cash4Gold but whose URL does not begin with “Cash4Gold.com…”
• Be wary of any e-mail purporting to be from Cash4Gold that directs you to a website that does not begin with “Cash4Gold.com…”
• Only go to Cash4Gold.com when requesting a Refiner’s Return Pak online
• Call the toll free company hotline, 1-877-GOLD-590, and not any other number claimed to be associated with Cash4Gold

“All of our advertising and marketing points to the official website and our hotline. Any other use of our logo is fake,” said Aronson, “whether you see it being used to advertise a website, promote a gold swap party, or call attention to a gold buying event at a local hotel or mall. We want Cash4Gold customers to know the difference between us and a cash for gold scam. We are doing everything we can to stop these companies, but it takes time, so customers have to be careful.”

The sad fact is that in this technology age, anyone can easily masquerade as someone they are not with some basic programming knowledge and access to graphics available to anyone on the internet. Cash4Gold thinks it is important to educate the consumer about these known fraudulent tactics. Ultimately, it is the job of the consumer to heed these warnings and protect themselves.
